Drive it 15 minutes first
A warm engine and hot catalytic converter burn cleaner. A cold start can fail a test it would otherwise pass.

What is a test-only station?
A station licensed only to inspect and certify vehicles, not to repair them. Because we can't sell you repairs, there's no upsell — just an honest test. We can certify gross polluters here too.
What is a STAR station?
A smog station the DMV holds to higher Bureau of Automotive Repair standards and monitors closely. If your DMV renewal notice says certification is required at a STAR station, you're in the right place.
Do you smog diesels, trucks and hybrids?
Yes — we're licensed to test all vehicles, including gas, diesel, hybrid, trucks, vans and motor homes, for every DMV reason. Larger vehicles and diesels carry a small add-on over the coupon price.
What if my vehicle fails?
We'll explain exactly why it failed and what to repair. Once it's fixed, bring it back for a retest — and you may qualify for up to $500 in repair help through the state's Consumer Assistance Program.
